Writing an argumentative essay

An argumentative text can be in the form of an essay, a letter to the editor of a newspaper or a chat forum post.
Your obejective when you write an argumemtative text is to persuade the reader, to convince the reader to think your way.

In your argumentative text you must never forget what you believe (your thesis statement), why you believe it ( your arguments) and why your opponents are wrong (counter arguments)
The standard way of buildning the argumentation is to follow the basic five-paragraph strucutre.
